Waiting for perfection before taking action leads to poverty
Waiting for perfection before taking action leads to poverty
On Tuesday I had the opportunity to meet and learn from JT FOXX (if you haven’t had the chance to see/hear/meet him) you are missing out
(here’s a pic of me with the man after he shared advise on how to take my speaking and coaching to the next level
Prior to meeting JTFoxx I also had the double pleasure of hearing from Reggie Batts who not only is a truly inspirational and global speaker but also an actor. Reggie was sharing a powerful message around personal brand, and taking action – essentially being awesome. At one point he shared a piece around the Laws of Attraction and how for attraction to really work it requires action.
If you’ve been awake at all, you will by now have heard of the Law of Attraction
I wanted to put in a few quotes to explain the Laws of Attraction and although I have a number that I have collected over the years I always look to promote others so thought I would share the top 10 quotes on law of attraction by Law of Attraction
Laws of attraction have a really cool site which provides visualisation tools, Blogs, Exercises and a whole host more – go check it out!!!

“Keep your thoughts positive, because your thoughts become your words.
Keep your words positive, because your words become your behaviours.
Keep your behaviours positive, because your behaviours become your habits.
Keep your habits positive, because your habits become your values.
Keep your values positive, because your values become your destiny.”
“It’s really important that you feel good. Because this feeling good is what goes out as a signal into the universe and starts to attract more of itself to you. So the more you can feel good, the more you will attract the things that help you feel good and that will keep bringing you up higher and higher.”

Mind you the Laws of attraction are nothing new and have been around for centuries. In the Bible Proverbs 23.7 it is written “As a man thinks, so is he” however it has become more and more in the main stream in the past few years – Les Brown, Anthony Robbins, JT FOXX, Zig Ziglar, Jim Rohn, The Secret, Eric Thomas
This talk and point by Reggy got me thinking (great communicators always do) and which resulted in this rather impromptu post
In order for you to get what you desire you need to Attraction it
Lets break Attraction down
Let me try and explain this. Picture a car
A car (the idea) needs traction (grip/firm ground) to be able to take action (move forward/backwards). The problem for cars is that often as they start to move forward on this bumpy/muddy unknown road of an adventure they – like life – get can and do get stuck in a rut or mud. At this time the driver usually does one of three things
Scenario 1 – The put their foot on the gas with the hope that the wheels will gain traction (as anybody who has found themselves in this situation knows it often does the reverse) leaving the wheels spinning like crazy, burning rubber and fuel like nobody’s business; in essence wasting senseless energy getting nowhere.
Scenario two – The driver that gets out of the car with the thought “this is a waste, its no use, I’m stuck and there is no way out” and walks off leaving the car floundering in the mud, slowly wasting away over time.
In life we all face getting ‘stuck in the mud’ and all react/respond to this from the position of one of the scenarios I describe above. I have found that our response is down to three factors
(1) Number of challenging experiences we’ve experienced X (2) learning we have taken from each experience X (3) The belief systems we have developed as a result of each experience
The more challenges we face the lees flustered/surprised we should be when challenges occur. This should be strengthened when we stop and learn from each experience and we become incredibly powerful when we take the first two and make a decision to see each challenge as an experience of the moment and not a reflection of our selves. If we do that we then have the third scenario
Scenario three – The driver switches off the engine; takes a deep breath and acknowledges the problem – The car is stuck there is no traction and therefore the action I was hoping for is not occurring. The driver then gets out of the car and assesses the situation: How many wheels are stuck; how deep are they in; what other obstacles are there; what tools are available to help. They then take a moment to think of as many different options to create traction so that the car (and them) can move forward. and with this they start to take steps to get moving forward again
How do we ensure we are best prepared to take action when we apply the Law of Attraction?
Dreamers dream; Visionaries envision. Without commitment you will never start, Without a plan you will never fail; Without failure you will never fail forward and without a schedule you will never commit. Commitment is progress, and progress is your journey towards destiny
All good things come to those who wait; but only those things that have been left behind by those who hustle
Wise thinking leads to right living; Stupid thinking leads to wrong living
As you move through life, don’t seek security but rather seek for adventure. It is far riskier not to invest than to be fully invested
Success is not doing extraordinary things, it is simply doing ordinary things extraordinarily well
